Community Testing for Covid-19 is Now Available in Swadlincote.

We’re encouraging as many local people as possible who don’t have symptoms to get a test to help to protect their loved ones and the wider community.

One in three people can have the COVID-19 without displaying any symptoms and can unknowingly pass it on.

That’s why it’s so important to get tested regularly so that we can find people who are infected, support them to self-isolate, break the chain of transmission and drive the infection rate down.

We need your help. If you live or work in Swadlincote, please get tested at least once a week while the centres are open to keep everyone safe.

Please encourage friends and family, people you care for or clients you support to get a test too.

The testing centres are at:

  • Grove Hall, Grove Street, Swadlincote DE11 9DD (this accesses the rear of Grove Hall). Please note access is not through the leisure centre.
  • Midway Community Centre, Chestnut Ave, Swadlincote DE11 0EW (car park: Rowan Drive, DE11 0FF)
  • Gresley Old Hall, Gresley Wood Road, Swadlincote DE11 9QP

The centres are open from 09:00 to 19:00 (last admission 18:15) on weekdays (except New Year’s Day) and from 09:00 to 16:00 (last admission 15:15) at weekends.

There’s no need to book – just turn up at a time that’s convenient for you.

Grove Hall will remain open until Friday 5th February 2021 and the other two centres will remain open until Tuesday 12th February 2021.

These testing centres are for people who do not have symptoms. If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus; a high temperature, new, continuous cough or a loss or change your sense of smell or taste – do not come to the centres. You should instead book a test by ringing 119 or visit www.gov.uk/getting-tested-for-coronavirus.
